Can CLI's be recon'd?

I called in for a CLI to Chase Freedom and all they gave me was $300. I asked if I could get more and the guy said that's all you're approved for at this time. I really don't get it. I went from 1500 to 1800. They pulled TU and my TU FICO is 686 and the only baddy is a 5 year old 30 day late. If I call Chase's backdoor number, would they be able to reconsider a higher CLI?

Yes, call the back door number and they will be able to pull up the CLI application. Good luck!!

Last month I called the executive office regarding a CLI.

They approved me a CLI from $300 to $500. The rep on the phone told me it would be a SP, then I found out that it was a HP after checking my report. I called the executive office and complained about the HP. After some investigation, she called the the next day telling me it was infact their error, and she would recode the HP to a SP. During our first conversation I told her I would rather give them back the $200 CLI to have the HP recoded/removed. During this conversation, she said they took another look at my profile and granted another $250CLI to a total CL of $700.

So all in all, CLIs can be reconned.

AMEX: $25,000, CSR: $10,000, Chase Priority Club: $1,500, Freedom: $5000, Freedom Unlimited: $1000, Discover: $21,000, BoA $11,000, WF Cash Wise: $5000

EQ FICO - 753
TU FICO - 755
EX FICO(AMEX) - 766

Sweet, thanks for the info. I already knew it would be a hard pull and was expecting a much better CLI because my credit has greatly improved from when I first got the card almost a year ago. Had I known the CLI would only be for $300, i wouldn't have called in. To me, $300 is not worth a hard pull.

Yea I would definitely call back and try for more since you've already took the HP.

I'm sad now. I called Chase and they said because it has been 4 days since the request, they have to do another hard pull to consider a CLI. They said I had to call within 3 days to see if they would reconsider another increase from the initial request

Get in touch with the executive office. I applied for a CLI and was given a $500 increase from $1k to $1.5K. I wasn't satisfied with that. Kept pecking away and finally got them to go to $5k. Yep, $1k to $5k. Got them to match my Discover that hadn't even reported yet. It's possible, just be persistent with them.

Well, he had no problem doing a recon but he said he had to do another hard pull because it has been more then 3 days since my cli request

Sweet, thanks for the info. I'll call them tomorrow, they're closed right now. Do you think they would work with my request from earlier or would they want to do a hard pull again as well?
