CONGRATS! Gotta love NFCU. Do you mind sharing your credit score and profile? Utilization and income?

if your active military its a shoe in. other ways are immediate family of active military, immediate family of retired military (must be retired military), immediate family of active member no matter if military affilitated or not. or if your roomate is a member that makes you eligible too. that pretty much sums it up right there

NFCU plat 5k | NAVCHECK 5k | NFCU cashrewards 15k | BOFA 123 6k |
Chase Freedom 1.5k | Amazon 3K | Walmart 3K | Buckle 300 | AMEX BCE 2.5K | CHASE CSP 12K | CITI sears 6k | Kay 2k

On the prowl for Chase Sapphire Preferred! APPROVED 12K!
scores 7/14 647 622 630 (85%util)
scores 8/14 767 760 758 Boom! finally in the 700 club

You forgot one.... I'm a DOD contractor and that also allows membership.  In fact I know of a lot of contractors here in Afghanistan that are members.

After falling off the wagon while in the garden... And going 2 for 4 on a drapping spree I've finally received my coveted Discover More. And now I'll limp back to the garden.

Re: Can I just say...Nfcu ROCKS!

My husband is a DOD contractor also. Our income is 95,000. My eq is 695, I have scorewatch. Oldest acct 13 yrs, AAoA is 3 yrs, Utilization is at 9%, across many cards and at least one was at almost 50%. They pulled my eq, and I haven't had any inquiries in the last year. I have one medical collection for 500 bucks from 2007, but nothing else bad at all. I opened my own savings account Tuesday and applied for the card that night. The approval was showing last night when I got home. I'm thinking of thinning some of my accounts out now, just not sure which ones. AMEX ZYNK AMEX HH $5,600 AMEX BCE $6,000 GECRB/SAMSDC $10,000 BK OF AMER $6,000 DISCOVER $7000 CITI DIVIDEND $2,500 CITI FORWARD $1,000 GECRB/LOW $10,000 CAP ONE $2,500 CAP ONE $3,250 MERRICK BANK/HOOTERS $1,300 SPIEGEL $750 WFNNB/BUCKLE $750. I also have 2 auto loans, one a year old and the other 1 1/2 yr old. And a 2 yr old mortgage. We applied for a $5000 navcheck and was approved for that also.

Re: Can I just say...Nfcu ROCKS!

OP, wait a month untill NFCU card reports then you should easily be able to double/tripple your limits on most of your other accounts.  This would really help with your UTI if you carry any type of balance.  Oh and yes NFCU rocks, they gave me a 2k card when I was rebuilding from 500's!!! (helped having a 45k job and 4 years with them!)
