I've been denied a few times, I am wondering if it is time to try again. My concern is that I will be denied for too much recent credit. Notice the account opened dates on my accounts. I'm interested in the Barclay's Choice Hotels Card, perhaps also a discover card. Would I be approved for these today or should I wait? Below is what my current TU report looks like.
TU FICO, as of 2/8/13: 716
Inquiries on TransUnion as of 2/24/13: 1 (Ford Motor Credit 12/3/12)
EDIT: The only negative information is on 6 closed sallie mae student loans, they all have 120 day late payments reporting from May 2006 through Jan 2007.
All revolving credit is paid in full every month, the balances shown are accounts that were not paid before the statement date last month.

i mean they do pull TU is mostly all cases and that 1 inq. should not hurt. you have paid your debt as agreed, sooo why not? You should be fine. If it were were EQ or EX who they pulled then it would be a BIG N.O hahha. OH Wait you have opened new acct's last year soo it all depends on Discover and barclay, you can always recon.
My husbands scores are in the mid 600's at best and he has lots of declines but has opened 3 new, low limit, GE backed store cards in the past month. Barclays Rewards Card just approved him with a 500 limit.

Time to stop getting inquiries and age those cards now and watch the scores soar...good luck and congrats on the new TL
Barlclays is inquiry sensitive, I think Discover might be as well. I'd suggest gardening until a lot of those inquiries age off.

My TransUnion report only has 1 inquiry. However, I do have several accounts created between 3-7 months ago.
I do not want to waste an Inquiry so I want to be fairly sure I will get approved before applying. I have 9 open revolving accounts that are 3-7 months old. Plus one new installment loan and 4 more revolving accounts opened less than a year ago that I already closed.
I applied with Barclays 3 times over the last year, was denied 3 times and recon failed 3 times.
So, the real question is --- are they inquiry sensative or new account sensative or both?

Both.
Discover will pull EQ so I would stay away from that one.
