I am trying to figure out if I could qualify for a prime credit card with higher limits. Here is my info:
Annual income $50,000
two car payments totaling $839 one open 10/2008 the other open 05/2010 no lates
HSBC $900 limit $12 balance open since 01/2010 no lates
Capital 1 $500 limit $0 balance open since 12/2009 no lates
Capital 1 $750 limit $450 balance open since 09/2010 no lates
first premier $375 limit $0 balance open since 3/2009 no lates
first premier $475 limit $0 balance open since 10/2009 no lates
and of course the baddie
United Acceptance car loan unpaid charge off in the amount of $1,094 Account closed 04/2009
nothing else really on my credit report no mortgage
length of credit history shows 5years 0Months
Average Account Age 2years 7Months
I paid all my utilization down to the above amounts this month (was near 80%) so I'm expecting bumps from all three CRA that should put me nearer to the 700 mark across the board. Just wanting higher limits so my file looks good. I would like to eventually qualify for an $80,000 mortgage. Please anyone that could help I would so greatly appreciate.
That Charge-off might hold you back, but other than that I have similar credit history and was approved for prime.
if you do get approved for a prime card it might be intitial low limit around 1000. you have low limit cards and nobody will want to be the first to give you a nice cl. might be different if you can do something about that co

That's why I'm afraid to apply

I tried I have the money to pay it but they will not agree to delete. So I don't know if just having a zero balance is any better than where I am now?
well certainly a zero balance is better not for scoring purposes but you could always pay it then try to goodwill them. im not trying to say to give up on requesting a pfd but as a last resort you can pay them and then start sending goodwills. on another note a zero balance will look better if you apply and get denied and then call for a recon.
on your siggy your score says 664 where did you get that from. what is your fico tu and eq. how many inquiries do you have on your reports. how many in the last 6 months?
Update United Acceptance, inc agreed to a PFD they emailed me the letter, I paid the account, then they sent me another letter stating that they were in receipt of my recent dispute of my united Acceptance, Inc trade line on my credit report. They have complied with my request and submitted a request to the credit bureaus to delete the trade line from my report.change will take approximately 46 to 60 days to reflect on my credit report.
I'm hoping this changes my odds for a prime credit card but I'm still unsure about which card to apply for. I need one that is a slam dunk approval with a high limit just so others will take a look at me in the near future. ANY HELP?????
