Can't decide on Chase combination card strategy

I really do not use my regular Chase Sapphire (non annual fee version) that is 6 moths old.

I want to either move the entire limit over to my amazon visa or I am torn on moving 4k over to amazon and leaving the CS open with a 1k limit.

If I dont use the CS, just combine the entire limit over amazon? The card has no activity on it for 30 days.

personally I would never completely close out a CSP.  Points are too valuable if you ever decide to focus on travel rewards.

Let a whole billing cycle elapse without making a single transaction, then you'll be able to transfer the entire CL without the $500 minimum. I was on the same boat as you--I realized that my CSP was utterly useless because I just don't travel, regardless of how "valuable" UR points might be.

Oh, that makes a big difference.  I'd close out the CS then.  Why the desire to move the CL to the Amazon instead of the a Freedom?

I do a lot of shopping at the types of stores where amazon gives you the 2% back, thats why I was thinking about moving it amazon. I also have a game plan for November of this year when my Slate is competely paid off, moving that entire limit over to freedom. Does that make sense?

It does and sounds like a good plan.  Much better than keeping cards that are not used open

Re: Can't decide on Chase combination card strategy

So i called the number on the back of amazon visa, directly connected me to jpm executive services. A very nice girl startee the process for me, told me i had 62 points id lose on CS if i closed it and moved the limit but quickly said ill just go ahead and credit them to your csp. Then she tried to move the entire limit but the computer wasnt agreeing. I did make a 15 dollar purchase on 5/2/15 and paid it right off and statement cut on 5/17 w/ 0 balance.

Knowing this i tried anyways but she said hold on i need to transfer u to a lending specialist.

I said ill call back cause im on break at work. Hopefully she just couldnt move the limit cause
Of the 30 days and not cause chase wants to give me some bad news lol. Im going to wait till next month.

They should be able to do it no problem. I've never ran into that issue when I called JPM and had the lending specialist help me out with these things. I wish you the best of luck.
