Can you recommend a card?

My roommate is looking for a visa or mastercard but does not want to do business with Chase, BoA, or citi.  Any suggestions? He already has a discover.

Re: Can you recommend a card?

What kind of credit history is he carrying?  If he wants to avoid the big banks, he should probably find a Credit Union.

Re: Can you recommend a card?

That leaves AMEX, credit union(s), cap1, wells fargo; probably in that order Smiley Very Happy

The most useful card without an annual fee is Blue cash everyday from AMEX; then cap1 has a decent 1.5% cash back card.

Re: Can you recommend a card?

I'd say Barclays then...or Cap One, but Barclays seems to be more generous and they have more cards to choose from.
