After 7 months of trying to combine a Venture card with a QS card that last month was a success taking my Venture (17k) and putting it into my QS (4k) to make 21k card that has no AF and both cards had same rate so no change there (were both opened same day 2.4 years ago). I sent a payment to my Venture prior to combo and it was for too much and showed a -$1.62 balance then did combine and it finally went through. Just today I got a FICO alert that my account was closed at consumers request and score went up 3 pts (probably for the $2200 balance paid).
I chatted with them online yesterday. they asked me to do the same thing online. Lol.
might have call them and check.

But this Cap 1, computer system or CSR just sucks doing that(always says, your account is not eligible despite fulfilling all required criteria ). No luck for last 1.8 yrs
Anyone had luck on account combination with Cap 1?
Don't do it.
Capital One's account combination feature should be avoided.
Combined accounts are the ones being targeted for adverse action -- credit limit reduction and in some cases cancellation.
Just move on and forget about it; it's a trap.
I have been trying since they announced the feature to combine my Cap One accounts but have been unsuccessful. It's not like they're unwilling to extend credit to me, as I've been approved for a $30k Venture and received PC and CLI on two other cards up to around $10k each. It's just some glitch in their system, or possibly something hanging around from some account I may have had with them 15 years ago.
Right now, I look at it as a blessing in disguise though. I'll join SouthJamaica in the belief that combined accounts been in their crosshairs with the recent AA they have been taking. It might be a reasonable idea if you're planning to combine two very low-limit cards, but if you start getting past $20k, $30k and some people have combined $50k, watch out for AA.
