I know that Cap 1 is stingy with CLI but has anyone had luck with an initial increase at activation to match other CL? I was just approved for cash rewards and my limit about 1/3 of what my other bank cards are. Normally Id say rack it up and PIF and call in 6 months, but this is Cap 1....
What is the Limit of this Cap1?
I kind of air on the side that says once you have gone mid-Prime at least I would not apply for Capital One!
However I can't dismiss what REAL PRIME clients end up with in my experience, so they are not all terrible but I don't think they have a middle, you either stuck way down low or you are way up high and even way up high I don't see the CLI's like other banks and cards.

First thing I would do is sign into your online account and look at your "statements and documents" page. I was a bit disappointed with the limit, but, I have a document there called "credit steps" which has my new credit limit listed that I'll automatically upgrade to after 5 on time payments.. My CL is supposed to double and that's with my income only being $10,000 as I'm a student at the moment.
I would check and see if you have something like that sitting there before calling just to save yourself some time.

I just looked, they did enroll me in credit steps. I'll get a 500 bump in 7 statements. Its something, but its still half the credit line of my others. I'm not a big fan of cap 1, but they did give me a card way back when I didn't deserve it so I have some loyalty. Right now its 0% for a year and Ive already gotten rewards off it. I guess I will just hold my breath for a few months and keep racking up the cash back!
