Re: Cap 1 GM BuyPower card

Well I like GM products and saving $250 a year (5% on the first $5,000) with no limit on what you buy meaning gas, food, shoes, netflix, whatever works for me. I'm still inthe 00% APR period with a $10k CL (started at $5k, one month later I requested a CLI and they bumped it to $10k). I'm not a big fan of rewards chasing, too much work just to buy what I'm going to buy anyway - that's not to say I don't use 5% gas cards and I don't mind getting reward (cash) credits back on cards - which I usually just credit to the statement. It's just that I don't have the time to take the effort to choose the special card for each purchased based on the deal of the day/month - just not worth it to me, I have enough hobbies.

For me the GM Card offers good CL, $250 credit per year towards a car/truck I'll buy anyway and I don't have to "think" about the deal of the day everytime I use it - for me it works and I'll run $5k through it a year, but it's not by any means my only card.

It only pulls EQ unlike other Cap1 backed cards (with the exception of Saks WMC upgrade). Mine was instant approved for $7500 last year. It requires a separate login from other Cap1 cards and they send me BT offers all the time.

The rewards are mediocre but compared to other automobile cards, which ones aren't mediocre? BMW, Lexus, Chrysler credit cards are all lousy.

That's good to know B335is.  I too picked up this card in October as they were constantly hounding me with pre-approvals via the USPS.  Was instantly approved for only 3k and 19.99 ugh.  It currently sits at 0 dollars, as I don't really have a use for it anymore.....  However, it was 1 pull on EQ and it's my only WEMC.

@Anonymous recently I discovered that it may cost a HP for a cli, unlike the regular CapOne cards -- so I jumped on the bandwagon last month and app'd for a QuickSilver and was instantlly approved for 10k @ 17.9Smiley Very Happy   LIKE this card much better!!!

Anyways, I gave up trying to link both my cards or having them on the same login...lol   Thanks for that clarification B335is.   Also, nice to know they are offering you BT offers......
