Cap 1 Secured CLI

Has anyone recieved an auto-CLI from Cap1 on their secured card w/o making a deposit??? If you have how long have you had the card before it happened.

Re: Cap 1 Secured CLI

Yes, I have at 6 months

They review every 6 months, and you may or may not get a CLI.

There is a whole thread on that.  I received mine at 6 months ($300, unsecured). It's coming up on a year and I hope they decide to unsecure it because I'm not putting any more money into it! It's sitting at $1200 right now.

Re: Cap 1 Secured CLI

I will have one year this month and they have not gave me an increase. I have not gone over the limit nor had a late payment. My limit is sitting at $700 which I deposited.

Re: Cap 1 Secured CLI

Also they told me that they did not know when they were going to unsecure it if it even unsecures. I say that's BS. I will cancel this card in the next few months or so before the year is over and use the money on something else.

Re: Cap 1 Secured CLI

It will be a year on 7/20 that I have had the secured card.  Called about a CLI at 7 months and they said to wait until about 9 months.  Nothing has happened.  Limit is $500 and I have never used more that 30% of that.  PIF every month.  **bleep**!

I have heard that they review some accounts after 6,9, and 12 months....so we'll see what happens.

Re: Cap 1 Secured CLI

I have had my card since 09/2010 and still havent recieved anything either.  I have a limit of 525.00$.  Yet I got approved for thier Rewards 750.00$ and a Sony Card 500.00$ Yesterday.  Gonna cancel my Secured since not I have two unsecured lines with them.  I paid in Full each month and once or twice carried a balance of like 20%. Always on time, nver over the limit.  Good starter card but dont expect much at all.  I got approved when my scores were 550 and now Im approaching 640's.  This one opened doors for me and now I have gas cards, store cards and Bank of America Power rewards secured card which has been great to me. After I opened Cap 1 until today this is my portfolio. Before no one would give me credit.

American Eagle Outfitters$150.00
Banana Republic$400.00
Bank of America Power Rewards$1,000.00
Best Buy Reward Zone Mastercard$300.00
Capital One No Hassel Rewards$750.00
Capital One Platinum Secured$525.00
Chevron$500.00
Citgo$200.00
Credit One$350.00
Discover/HSBC$500.00
Express Fashion$2,160.00
Exxon Mobil$200.00
Gap, Inc.$200.00

JCPenny$500.00
Sony Visa$500.00
Old Navy$200.00
Shell$200.00
TJMaxx$200.00
Walmart$375.00

So just let the account age and enjoy it for what it is.  Hope this helps.

Re: Cap 1 Secured CLI

you must have a load of inquiries...looks like a lot of cards with low limits....I was in the same boat, around 550 last year, now at 641.  I'm shooting to repair enough to get limits in the thousands when I apply, so I'm waiting it out.

Re: Cap 1 Secured CLI

I was up to 23 inquiries on TU but because I check my credit reports quite frequently I guess some of them got booted off.  I am down to 12 Inquiries on TU
