Cap One and combining cards?

Before i cancel my account, does anyone know if they still combine cards to one card with both limits?

I tried this last year and was told they no longer combine accounts.

i was told the same thing last year because of the credit card ACT

Perhaps my memory is mistaken. But I thought that a few years ago the only way to combine Capital One accounts was to call the backdoor number which would connect you directly to the "Account Specialist" department.

i called the backdoor last year and they told me the credit card act law doesnt allow them to combine accounts they advised me to apply for a new card if i wanted a higher limit capital one is useless they are a conservative lender and wont expect them to budge much unless I have their excellent credit criteria cards

IIRC as PP they used the CARDA as an excuse to longer offer combos.
