Anyone who's been to Cap One's CC page has seen their criteria for excellent, average and poor credit.
The excellent standard is actually a little daunting for many decently qualified applicants if taken literally:
ALL must apply
I have not been more than 60 days late on any credit card, medical bill, or loan in the last year
- AND -
I have never declared bankruptcy or defaulted on a loan
- AND -
Anyone been approved for a top level card without meeting those standards 100%? If so, what did your report look like? I'm sizing myself up for a application for the Spark Cash Business Card in a week or two.

I think that 3rd requirement is what holds alot of people up. I'd imagine if your borderline with it they can work with you.
I know I'm "pre-selected" or whatever CapOne calls it for all the excellent credit cards and I don't quite have 3 years of history, have like 2 years 8 months.

Good example right here! Did you have any plans of apping for any Koop?
No, not right now. The cashback card would be nice, but I just applied for two cards last month. It's a potential for some time in the future.

That's why I wouldn't app, even though I meet all 3 requirements :/
Maybe some day after I have a car loan, a mortgage and have milked the hell out of my existing cards.

I would hope that would include car loans and mortgages
