Re: Cap One useless at the subprime level

Crap 1 in general is worthless. My cap 1 card is used for Netflix only. When I went the EO office for a CLI. They originally wanted to CLI me to 500 from 300. Was asking for 2000k. Finally after a week I got $1000 CLI. I will never use this card for anymore then netflix till April then I will cancel unless the waive there $29 AF.

Btw 697 fico score.

Re: Cap One useless at the subprime level

It seems like they don't like to do two changes at the same time, like adding rewards plus CLI.  I'd give the EO another shot.  The first time I used EO, they gave me CLI but wouldn't add rewards.  The second time, I got both.

Barclays USAir World MC $8300 - DCU $7500 - USAA World MC $7000 - PayPal Extras MC (GE) $5500 - Chase Saphire Preferred $5000 - Discover It $6000 - Barclays Sallie May $2700 - Chase Freedom $1000 - Capital One $8500 (business) - store cards ranging from $500-$9500

IMO, asking to go from $300 to $2M is a little too much, even for the EO!

More seriously, Capital One is worthless for some, good for others.  I have used them a lot.  Their quicksilver is an excellent product.

Re: Cap One useless at the subprime level

Note the thread title. Quicksilver is not sub prime. Cap 1 prime has some decent cards like the quicksilver and venture cards, not disputing that. Once you graduate from cap 1 sub prime(which I did). Like I said they have a very limited usefulness

Re: Cap One useless at the supreme level

Having been a capitol one holder for two years I can tell you what they are good, its best in a list format

establishing credit

maintaining low credit amounts

annual fees

24 hour customer service

now the bad

they will only go so far with their builder cards

their low credit limits prohibit their use at times

I not anyone else should have to pay a fee (af) to pay a fee (interest)

their customer service is as good as you can understand them from the script they are reading

on a complete side note I have many times taken the pleasure of saying something to the online reps that I knew they would not have the answer for such as what do you think is going to happen with the current federal interest rate given the tough economic times the world is facing

Re: Cap One useless at the supreme level

I had success with EO.

I had two platinum cards with them. One with $1100 limit, which was a conversion from HSBC, and a true cap one plat with $1000 limit

They added 1% cashback, and CLI to $4k on the HSBC card. They said they werent able to PC an HSBC card yet because of the transfer process but to call back in a few months.

Second card, they doubled my CL to $2k, and PC to a Quicksilver One, and waived first year annual fee.

OCCU $10k | Lowes $12k | BOA $15k | SECU $5k | REI Visa $9k | Citi AAdvantage $3k | CapOne QuickSilver One $2500 | CapOne Quicksilver $4k | Amazon Visa $5k | Walmart $4k | Discover iT $5k | AMEX BCE- $18k | Chase Freedom - $4k | Chase IHG-$4500
