hmmmm...... Here's the strategy I used(was unintentional but it worked out that way accidentally):

I paid all 3 cards I have with Cap1 in full, starting back in June. Prior to that, my twice annual requests for cli had been declined. After pif'ing them and using them only once per month, pif'ing, etc. I guess I sent them the message, I didn't "need" the cli, so they granted them. LOL

I'm waiting until next month to call them back(at their request) and ask for a rate decrease(I'm at max default rate, because of 4 baddies 2 years ago)

And if it's not been said, they don't do cli's on request, but periodically reviw internal records and grant based on their outcome.

I used the Account Specialist number from this thread just now and requested a CLI.  They granted almost immediately, and I had previously asked for from the number on back of card and was told it wasn't available!
 
So to clarify, they DO grant CLI's upon request using that Account Specialist phone number.  Smiley Happy

Thanks sylvia....They Luv me a little too....lol!!  This is the fourth increase this year but I am happy about it. Not as much as I wanted but enough to bring my uti down on the card below 70% cause I just made a large BT..TYTYTY....Didn't want it to report like that.

I called that Account Specialist number, told them a sob story, threatened to cancel, and got shot down. Capital One has been nice to me, but they are pretty stingy.

I got shot down 2 weeks ago because it hadn't been long enough since my last increase.  LOL!!  I was honest and said since  just made a huge BT I would really like for them to help me with uti... Heck I told him 1$ more is a dollar more...lol!!  Then he increased it.  Read the disclosure about not being immediately aval, I said 'Hey I don't want to USE it, just want to show it.'....lol!!
 
Thank goodness it didn't report with that high balance it had before.

My CLI from the acct specialist last month was available before I got off the phone.

I had to check as I thought I heard her wrong.
