I think your letter is very good. It is detailed and thorough. However, for your next letter you should make sure it reads Capital rather than Capitol. It's a minor change, but it is important to stress that you pay attention to the details.

I too sent a GW letter last month to CapOne for 1 30 day and 1 60 day late. I received a response from their PO Box 85049 Richmond address two weeks later. No compassion there. "We contacted EQ, TU and EX, and we have found that your account is being reported correctly....In order to avoid being past due, we must receive your total minimum monthly payment by the due date listed on your statement." And so on it went....
 
And yes, I told them it was late. I was hoping for some lovin'.

A GW phone call was made to Capital One

After going through the initial person, she transferred me to account specialist. I asked him if he would GW a 30 day late payment on Feb. 2005. When he looked it up, I had no late payment shown in his records. He immediately typed a dispute to all three credit agencies telling them I had no late payments with Capital One. Makes you wonder how it got on there to begin with. Anyway, it doesn't hurt to make a phone call and go past the initial person to get to an account specialist. Ask him to check your records. By the way, the person I talked with was exceedingly nice. Score one for the good guys!

From my obsevation from this and other boards is that the success from Cap 1 is persistance.  If one dispute address doesnt work, try another.  If you get nowhere with one CSR, call back and get someone else.  Its a numbers game.

I called Cap 1 and they removed late payments from my reports, or should I say stopped reporting.  Late payments were all in 2003.  I did the same with one other creditor for the same and they also stopped reporting.  I couldn't get anyone on the phone with my credit union to make the same request so I disputed it.  Lo and behold the late payments are no longer reported.

Jaust that's awesome! Did you speak to anyone in particular or was it a Cust serv rep? How did you request it? IE did you just come out and say I would like you to stop reporting this, etc? Sorry to be retentive but any little detail would be helpful.
