Cap1 : What CLI amount triggers Income Verification? (20k 30k 40k)

Some lenders (if not all), after a card's credit limit has been increased to a certain level, will ask for (read: demand) income verification.

Does anyone know at what point Capital1 will ask to show income verification?  I.e. At what amount did Capital1 ask for income verification?  Or does anyone have a high CL (25k+)  with Capital1, that can report that they were not asked to verify income?

I am self-employed, so I don't have pay stubs.  And my current level of income only began in (early) 2014, so I don't have a 2014 (2013 Tax Year) W2.  I will have an adequete W2 by some time in the Spring.  However, I am looking to get a CLI sooner than that.

Usually Cap1 does not ask for Income verification if you have a fairly thick file.. Obviously they can at any time though..  You would be lucky if you were to apply and get a 20k or 25k limit with cap1 though, so I wouldn't really worry about that unless you put you make 500k-1mill a year and have a thin file and they might want to make sure you aren't lieing or you just put a really high income hoping for a high credit line might trigger it as well.. food for thought

My current QS CL is $15k.  I was started at $10k about a year ago.  I put the full CL on the card (and naturally pay the full amount), several times/month.   (I use it for work purposes.)

Thick file...meaning spending/payment history?

It is definitely YMMV.   A while back, I requested a CLI on a former Household Bank CC and had to provide income verification.   I only moved from $650 to $1000.

Capital one isn't known to pull a citi/amex move like that. However.. They will sometimes ask for more information If you request something they aren't comfortable with.

For example, if you ask for a cli they might ask if you have a low aaoa / payment history.

I started with 500 cli and EO cli to 1000 with income verification After the first week. If I didn't give them the verification I would have just been denied the cli and would have had to wait for my credit steps cli.

Isn't there anyone out there, upon getting a CLI on a CAP ONE card they were asked to verify/document income??
