Cap1 gave me a $2000 3mos after another CLI

Just for reference. Cap1 gave me a $5500->$7500 luv button cli on my quicksilver after a $5000->$5500 luv botton CLI just 3 months prior. Which was surprising, since the rule is usually 6 months interval, mostly of $500 (correct me if I am wrong). The more recent one was instant, the older one was probably instant. In between them, the only thing changed was my credit score fell from 750+ to around 700 due to me app spreeing and got approved for 5 new cards, among which was a $5000 Cap1 card.

The second increase was probably credit steps which is an automatic increase.

there is a "loophole" where around month 3 you can request a CLI and still get your credit steps increase at 6 months.  After that you can only get one every 6 months.

Ah that would make sense! I have the card since March 2016, but I think I haven't tried requesting for CLI until late March this year, where luv button gave me $500; and then in early July luv button gave me $2000. In this case, it seems like the one I got late March was the "loophole"?
