CapOne Platinum Mastercard

Hey MyFico,

I finally got approved for my first credit card, a capital one platinum mastercard. I got an invitation in the mail and to my surprise was approved when I decided to apply. Also to my surprise was the credit limit they gave me. I'm 18, full time student, and they gave me a $3000 CL. I thought Cap One was notorious for giving low CLs. Any chance that this is a mistake? 

Also, on the papers I got in the mail it says "No Annual Fee." not for the first year, just No Annual Fee ever, however on the website it says it's free for the first year then 39 each year after. Do i get a special deal with no AF for using their invitation or did I just miss somewhere where it says "for the first year"
