Re: Capital One CLI question(s)

Yup, gonna get that letter again this month.  I have closed one card with them because they didn't raise the limit.  I thought I would ask today, since I got a CLI on my Household Bank card and I thought maybe they had changed their policies.  They always suggest that I apply for a new account.  I suscpect they think I will get caugt in a trap.  They want as many fees as possible.  They have made me realize that there should be a law preventing them from opening multiple accounts.

If you have credit issues and are working on them, then Capone is good for a certain period of time.  I have had 2 accounts with them and have gotten this letter enough to know that I can never get the limit increased simply by asking for it.  I closed one over this issue.  I would be happy with a $1500 limit with them and no annual fee.  They lost $39 in revenue over no CLI.  I would have kept the account open at least for another year of reporting if the had given a CLI.

Next time they tell you they are a conservative lender then tell the facts.  'Conservative lenders, do not lend to people with damaged credit history.  It is an Oxymoron."

It is by will alone I set my mind in motion.....
Always follow these rules: Only take a HP for a new account. Always use the best rewards card for that reward category. Don't close a card unless you know you really should. Never use more than 35% of a credit limit. Recon as much and as best you can. Use the introductory period to the best advantage. Get the signup bonus. Whenever possible PIF or balance transfer so you pay less in interest. Never give an excellent rating when it is actually the norm. Always look for a discount as more is always better.
Always accept candy from strangers because they have the best candy or from people you know have good candy.
