Re: Capital One - Can I even be approved if I defaulted 10 years ago?

Well, my credit situation is this:

3 open collections (I sent a PFD via fax a few days ago. Haven't heard anything back.)

  - Each individual collection is under $280 each (Just under $800 total)

1 Closed installment loan (Just closed as of 4/1)

   - Several lae payments (DTE would NOT goodwill them off until a few fall off)

   - Had this account for a total of 5 years, 3 of which are consecutive

   - PAID IN FULL

1 Secured credit card (Open Sky)

  - Brand new credit line ($200)

My main concern are the collections and late payments. Are either really enough to get me denied?

While everyone's file is different, I still say go for it.

I have (currently) 7 collections from 2010, 1 car loan (never late) and student loans. I was shocked to be approved for the cards I'm gardening now. I paid portfolio recovery which had my cap 1 account and applied again.
