Capital One Credit Limit Increase

I just looked at my account today and my credit limit rose from $500 to $750....

I did not request any sort of an increase, does this kind of stuff happen often? My credit scores have recently jumped from high 600's to mid 700's....

Re: Capital One Credit Limit Increase

Definitely sounds like credit steps. In your online account go to "Statements & Documents," click documents and look for one that says credit steps enrollment or something like that.

Around 50% of current CL seems to be customary.  So maybe as high as 3k?  Haven't seen that many credit steps cards with decent lines

Re: Capital One Credit Limit Increase

They say they review them automatically for increases.  I have two CapOne cards that went from $500 to $750 also.  That was a few years ago and have perfect payments and 0 balance and I am waiting for them to go higher than $750 now.  I have called to request increase but have been denied.

Your credit score is better than mine, (you are in the very good credit range) it seems like they should be giving you a higher limit than $750.00

Has anyone else notice CapOne being really rough with credit limits?

Re: Capital One Credit Limit Increase

I didnt complain about the $500CL when I first got the card because I had a few blemishes on my credit report. Since then my credit has gotten a lot better and I have nothing negative on my report.

I plan to ask for a CLI and apply for another CC, but I am currently in the process of getting a mortgage and dont want to do anything to screw that up.

And yes, I am involved in the credit steps program but I had no idea Smiley Happy
