Capital One Credit card (reporting)

I just paid off all my balance to $0 on two cards. The due date for Capital One is 11/24/12. I will get a statement on  11/27/12.  My question is if i use my cards after the due date say on 11/26/12 for Cyber Monday would Capital One report the $0 balance to the credit agency?

Usually cards get reported on the statement date. So if you use the card on or after the statement date, the zero balance should be reported.

Re: Capital One Credit card (reporting)

That is going to depend on how quickly those transactions post. If you use your card on the 26th, there is a possibility that those transactions will finalize on the 27th, and therefore become available for a reported balance. However, if the transactions remain pending, the card will continue to report a zero balance. For example, this month I used my card on the 13th, statement cut on the 15th, and those transactions were still pending, so nothing happened. But there's no definitive way to tell.

If you NEED the card to report a $0 balance, I wouldn't use it until after the 27th.

In My Wallet: Amex BCP (12/12) $50,000, Chase Freedom (12/12) $16,500, Cap1 Quicksilver (6/12) $14,000, Barclaycard Rewards (5/13) $10,500, Citi Prestige (4/16) $30,000
