Re: Capital One Froze Accounts again!

You seem to be an AA magnet of late.  Any idea what you're doing to tick off so many banks?

Maybe some background could be useful for future readers.

Re: Capital One Froze Accounts again!

Welcome to Crapital One!

Honestly...  Why bother messing with a bank like this.  There are plenty of good solid lenders out there and I know you have plenty of cards and access and you deserve better than to be treated this way.  Close the cards and give your business to a lender that values it.

I'm really not a huge fan of the trend as of late to encourage closing accounts with no AF that are only a net benefit to hold on to, but in the case of C1 I definitely make a huge exception.  Closing C1 cards feels especially good and not having to call in and listen to their "customer service" reps read scripts is especially fullfilling.

Cash out whatever rewards you have and move on.  You are past the C1 stage of your journey at this point.

Re: Capital One Froze Accounts again!

I agree with the above. At this point, with as many cards and lenders as I'm sure you have, capital one and their products aren't worth the aggravation.

Re: Capital One Froze Accounts again!

All that is much easier said then done and some of you might know this but for those that don't?

CA is an epic fighter too, (and a good one) plus i've seen far more wins then the opposite with those efforts and of all the members i seen here on these boards, this is one that absolutely positively DOES NOT GIVE UP Smiley Very Happy

That being said it may just be one of those C1 inter-departmental ordeals that i went thru before but on a different matter.

After going thru duplicate verifications and all that, and then getting the phone call clearance, a few days later the restrictions showed up again but another phone call thru to the right party FINALLY got that issue settled again and for good.

Let's hope so here on this too.

Re: Capital One Froze Accounts again!

I'm on my cell so can't tag but.
1. My bofa AA is more a real AA compared to this cap1.... I had more to do with starting this one but thought it was resolved after closing the personal and re-opening the business based on EO.
2. Yes, if I have some extra time on my hands (and let's be honest LA is rated #1 worst traffic... I love a good fight (edit... I fight but don't always love it but do post about it!)
Sometimes it comes out good and sometimes not but really with my EO Rolodex at this point I usually come out ahead more than not even though it's probably really not worth the frustration but I do like to share here and what I don't talk about on here much I help repair and fix other people's credit on the side and my experiences help me help them better and faster.
Literally there is not much I haven't experienced at this point and I will honestly say 99% is caused by me in some way I'm sure... I try not to act innocent or not guilty when I post... I simply may direct more energy or my posts more towards what went wrong fixing it or how I fixed it so some feel that is deflecting but what I really mean to try to show more of how to correct or what it might take to work with a particular company.

I 100% show my clients my profile/cards and #whatnottodo that I have done... I'm extreme when it comes to credit and always have been but I also smash a lot of those tumors "you can't do that" sort of thing.

😁😇

Some of you remember my long processes with Capital One and loosing my personal Quicksilver over AU's but was able to get my 2 business cards back through EO since they had no AU on them and I provided my verification documents.

Well my partners 2 accounts have been frozen for past month for same thing and today rep called him and he called me on conference call and I said we were looking to close down the personal and keep the business like was done with my accounts, etc.

She was like and what's your name?

She then says, "We are still investigating your accounts"

I was like no, you are not... that has all been resolved and all my accounts were closed but then EO opened my 2 business accounts back up.

The conversation moved on and we dealt with his accounts and the call ended with her closing both accounts and me sending EO another email asking that the same thing be done with his personal card as mine and re-open the business card.

I come home and log into my accounts... RESTRICTED AGAIN.

I've been holding for 18 minutes so far to speak to "My account specialist" whatever/whoever that is.

I literally have used my 1 business account just once since they were re-opened so not sure what the issue is.

This guy is as clueless about the sky as he is the bank he works for and asked me if I asked for my accounts to be closed?

I said when?

He said April 29.

I said no.

He said no, March 29.

I said if I asked to have my accounts closed why are they not closed instead of restricted.

Oh... umm.

I said if it was March, yes I asked them to be closed, but they were re-opened and unrestricted... WHO went in behind the Executive office and restricted them again and WHY?!

Now I'm on hold for him to reach out to some other department... hopefully, the next person is in the USA!

You know CreditAddict, Snowball was smart enough to study the battles of Julius Caesar in anticipation of a future fight with the drunken and irresponsible farmer Mr. Jones coming back and attempting to take his farm back.

In other words, you should have clearly seen stuff like this coming (not just C1 but any creditor).

Yes, I think it's good that he is tenacious and doesn't give up -- but at some point, you have to think about the value of your time. There are some battles that are probably not worth hassling with, especially when you have many other cards, many other creditors, etc. Credit cards are a hobby for many of us, an interest, but they don't need to be all consuming. Since OP has many, many cards, sometimes it's easier to just accept that the creditor isn't working out with them, and cut ties and move on.

That's not to say that the "don't give up" attitude is a bad thing. It's not a bad thing. It's just that Capital One is a PITA even on a good day, and dealing with things like this, going back and forth with EO, whatever, might be worth it if you were fighting for a mortgage loan. But all this over one out of probably 50 to 100 credit cards or more? I'd just close them and move on.

This is certainly taking accountability now for sure, but your initial posts in these matters do not start that way.
