Capital One Hard Pull raised TU Score 12 Points.

Isn't this weird, I get an alert, check and see that Capital One did an inquiry and at the same time my TU FICO score jumps from 607 to 619, what's going on?  Is this even possible?

They pulled Experian the other day, no increase.  Waiting for Equifax next.

Re: Capital One Hard Pull raised TU Score 12 Points.

I have had that happen for some HP as well, it will be a 7 to 13 point raise. And it's only on some. Most will say it has to do with something else going on in your report, but there it is on my alerts a big green arrow pointing up. Hey I'll take every little point I can get!

Re: Capital One Hard Pull raised TU Score 12 Points.

Something else on your report changed that didn't cause an alert but caused a score change.  The inquiry alert simply reflected that change.

Why is Capital One pulling your reports? If it's for a CLI, the higher credit line probably raised the score. If it's a new card, that probably lowered util which raised the score. The realistic scenario is more like this: Something raised your score 14 points, while at the same time the HP lowered it by two, leaving you a net gain of +12.

agreed! Not many alerts for TU so the HP alert probably came with a score increase

Re: Capital One Hard Pull raised TU Score 12 Points.

It's possible that the inquiry might've pushed you into a different scoring bucket.

Whenever this happens, people always say the person who had the score jump must be missing something, but I've seen too many people swear that no other changes were found on their reports.

Exactly.  But hey, at least it's in the positive/upward direction so that's a plus!
