Capital One Promotion

I just applied.  But I was told that Capital One is starting a new policy of only 2 cards per customer.  I got my first one in July 2007 and the second in October 2007.  They told me to wait 45 days between applications or you get one of those generated letters saying that you have recently applied or have been recently granted credit by Capital One.  I'm sure if your score is 550+ you can get a Capital One card of some kind...

That makes a LOT of sense u_e! Cap1 soft pulls on me every other month. By far the most.

I haven't talked to them since early Dec. Maybe it's time I give them another call.

Yeah, I would call them.  Tell them you heard about their promotion.  I got a 500 CLI in January and another 500 today.  You should be eligible.  Can't hurt to call.  Good Luck,  do tell all!!

Well. for once I took a chance and it worked.  I wrote the number and called and told the representative that I wanted Cap 1 to be the number one card in my wallet.  However, with the CL of $750.00 there wasn't so much you could do.  I just keep paying it off.  She gave me three options: (1) should could increase the limit another $500 (2) could write into Cap 1 about me wanting more than that and they would review it and get back in 7 days or (3) I could go on the website and apply for another card with different options of rewards, or APR.   I was no dummy- I chose the $500 CLI w/o a hard or soft pull.

She was very nice and said this did not affect any automatic CLI that the card usually offers.

SWEET, Now when you get the Auto-CLI, it will be 500 instead of the usual 200...smiles.!! Capital One RULES!!  lol

Well I called 877-513-9959 just a few ago. Spoke to a very nice rep who actually lived in my small middle of nowhere Florida town 15yrs ago!. Was approved instantly for the $500.00 and I didn't have to give a lame excuse. Just told her the extra room would be nice for my upcoming vacation. I opened this card in January for $500.00. I combined it 2wks ago with a starter card I got 4yrs ago for a total CL of $1000.00. With this CLI it is now $1500.00. She told me my credit steps increase I will get next month (3mo mark) will be another $500.00 so I am looking at $2000.00!! Also it appears that the info they report to the CRA is different for each person. On my CRA's it is still showing my old card as open, $500 CL, $0 balance with it's original opening of 10/03. On my new card I got in Jan it is showing $1000CL, $75 balance with an opening date of 10/03. I got the benefits of the new card (8.9%apr fixed, no AF) with the history of the old card!

They tell you 3 days for it to show up...It's more like 3 seconds LOL.
