My Capital One card began reporting after the second statement cut. It reported all months it had been open up to that time.
It has reported my Credit Limit correctly, and also my high balance as well. It has reported my balance on the statement end date each month, and has been very predictable.
My payments were held from available balance for a number of days during the first few months. I kept calling and asking them to release the funds. Eventually, I got hold of an Account Specialist from here in the US who informed me that the best way to stop that from happening was to make a large payment and let it run its course. The next month, I made a payment of $1,200 or so. It took about 8 or 9 days to clear from my available balance, but since then, my funds clear immediately from my available balance no matter what the size of my payment. While inconvenient at first, it appears Capital One now trusts me and has made the process very smooth in return.
Hope this helps.
very helpful info snack and others. I had a payment of 300 that was taking forever to clear. I chatted online and asked about it and they said they would release it. I told them I don't need to charge anything on my card right now and I was just curious about the process. If I had read your post first I would have just let it go. I paid 300 one day then 135 the next. When i called 4 days later they released the 300 immediately but the 135 still took a long time. I guess next time i make a big payment I will just let it run its course like you said. It hasn't hit my credit reports yet but my second statement closes at the end of the month so we will see.
my first few payments were for like 40 dollars or 25 dollars and those ones cleared and released in 24 hours. Its just the 300 dollar one that locked things up for a long time. I am not planning on using my card for more than a 25 dollar transaction for a while but if I do Il make a big payment and just let it run its course.
My first statement cut February 18th. Capital One is not reporting yet.
Also, my first payment was just shy of $180--it posted the same day.
Mine reported next day after the 2nd statement cut. I got this card on2/3/2013. Statement cuts on 21st every month. I checked my experian report yesterday and it was reporting from 3/22/13.
If I remember correctly... my Capital one payment showed up on Credit Karma about 8-10 days after my first payment was due, which I seen a boost in my Vantage score. But the funny thing was Credit Karma didn't show that I had a credit card until the second month.
