1) If they can tell they are money orders, probably not, and you might get hit with cash advance fees. But it is now very rare to be able to buy money orders with a credit card, usually debit or cash only.
2) Yes, this is just a purchase
3) Depends. Most places will process the return as a credit on the credit card used, and so Cap One will reverse the points. Sometimes they will give cash or let you use another card, but that is less common.
