Capital One - requesting proof of income

Hi

I recently applied for a capital one card and they sent me a letter requesting proof of income. When I called and asked why or what this means they stated my income seems too high... Ok whatever I supplied them with my tax return.  In the past when I have applied they immediately denied me. Does this request in your experience mean I may have a chance?

Yes. They also asked me for proof of income, and by reading the forums here, I think they are asking a lot more regularly than they used to.

In my opinion would you go the extra mile of requesting proof of stated income if they were going to deny you. Yes you have a very good chance!

And, probably too optimistic, if Cap One has proof of income, they may be more willing to give appropriate CLs.  Still surprising that this isn't part of more apps.
