Should I just go with a Public Savings card? or try the cap1 and roll the dice?

Apply for Cap1 first, if they deny, go for the PBS.

Re: Capital One secured CC question

I had a Cap1 chargeof in '02 or '03. Got a preapproval in the mail a few months ago. Applied online was instantly denied. Reason was the chargeoff. They didn't even do a hard pull. At the time of app I had zero negatives. 735 score. In my case they remember me.

Re: Capital One secured CC question

I had a CO with capital one.  I paid it back in January and I was approved for a secured card w/ a $49 deposit/$200 limit at the end of February.  I don't know how they are going to process CLI however. The secured card advertises that you may get unsecured increases and the deposit refunded as long as you pay on time yadayadayada...  I am hoping that the old CO that I paid doesn't make them keep a tight leash on the CLI's...  I am waiting to receive the card in the mail.  Should have it in a few days.  They sent me an email saying they mailed it outSmiley Happy
