I just read an article on investors.com where the CEO of Capital One said that their delinquencies are on the rise. The article was from late 2016. Google and read it.
Google Capital One Delinquencies.
For the past several months I kept getting denied CLIs on my venture card. I have been carrying a 0% APR off a balance transfer that entire time and they said my minimum payments were too low for a CLI although my payments were like 6 to 10 times the minimum requirement. In any event I just paid off my full balance and will be trying for another CLI now that I have fully paid everything off. My venture card credit line is fairly low in comparison to most my cards at only 13k, although its my oldest card. I got it way before cap 1 started handing out the high credit lines on initial approvals.

From the research I have seen so far although not alot of data it appears anyone with a CL > 30k on a single card are getting picked on in the first round.. Hopefully it stays this way... People the combined their cards to make massive Cap1 CL's and barely use their cards and have high CL's with other lenders are the one that will most likely get hit.. If you use Cap1 for a decent amount it appears you don't get the wrath either. BTW score was slightly over 700 they provided on the letter whatever version that was.
Identical reasons stated in LTL's letter.

Holy cow. Capital One has joined the ranks of the weirdos.
I guess that loyalty I was feeling for them is now subject to reconsideration.

+1... same here.
The only 'plus' they still have (at least in my case) is that they seem to be very tolerant of my sometimes-odd charging habits, i.e. they don't pester me with fraud alerts or declines. If that ever changes they'll be gone to the SD for sure.
So sorry this happened! Yikes!
