Re: Capital one (combining question)

wow, it is 9:37pm est. i am on the phone with capital one (backdoor#) to have the accounts combined. Julia the CSR seems a little annoyed because it is a long process. I will update in a few minutes when she is done.

Re: Capital one (combining question)

ok there is the update they combined the account to the one with the lower APR and *bleeping* AF. They did not give me an CLI which i am ok with. at least i will have one bill from CAP1. So now my my credit as follows: (do not yell at me MODS)

Walmart 19.87% $330 (received letter 10/20/2008 about CLD of $80..was $410) - bal $187
Target 20.99% $ 200 bal $148
Capital one 14.15% $3000 Bal $2811 (just combined 10/20/2008) AF$29
Upromise Citi 14.99% $2800 Bal $2585
Orchard Bank 14.90% $500 bal $300

Ikea 19.90% $300 bal 0
Children's Place 21.96% $250 bal 0
Avenue 22.80% $470 bal 0

Yes I know i have high balances, but the ones under $300 will be paid off by the end of the year. The High Balance ones will get a big payment at tax time. I do not carry my cards with me unless i really need them. All of these accounts are paid on time and also over paid $5-10 depending on budget. I feel better now that i combined the CAP1s into one account.Smiley Very Happy

Re: Capital one (combining question)

I had the same question...I had 2 cap1's with a CL of $500 both almost maxed and I combined them to the lower APR one of 5.56%. balances dont matter if u want to combine.

Re: Capital one (combining question)

I was shocked as well but with all the CLDs going on, I wonder if CAp1 will follow suit. Right now Cap1 (with the combo) is the highest limit I have in all my cards

Re: Capital one (combining question)

The backdoor number is definately useful. I called today and combined the new card ($750 CL, 0AF, 0% APR until Oct 2009) with the old card ($1100 CL, 39AF, 14.15% APR).

So I got rid of the AF and have a pretty good interest rate for the next year and I think after that it is still 12-13%.

They say it takes up to 14 business days for the process to be completed then I would get a confirmation in the mail....

Re: Capital one (combining question)

Yeah, their CS Reps are definitely not happy-campers.

DH combined his 2 Cap1 cards last night, and the guy was just rude.
