To whom this may concern:
Let me start by say thank you for giving me a chance with a credit card a year and a half ago.I am a current capital one customer, I have a checking account and a few credit card, A sharebuilder account for Stocks with your company, already closed 3 credit card as of today out of anger.I was looking to change my current credit card ending in 1994 to a venture card I was told that its not possible to do so.all I'm asking is for a product change on my credit card with a credit limit increase up to $3,500.so far this year a have charge $8,139.00 on a card that only has a $1,500 credit limit paying my credit cards bills every weekif I'm not a good customer than I guess I will take my business somewhere elsecredit cards that I currently have:American Express $5000. Credit limitDiscover $1500. Credit limitchase freedom $1500. Credit limitAmazon chase visa $1000. Credit limitCiti Diamond Preferred $4000. Credit limitplus a few store cardwill I get the CLI or not...Honestly, I'd be turned off by the tone of your email. It sounds very "entitled."
To be honest, I think his tone is fine considering every rep i spoke to (account specialist, senior account manager, case manager, executive office) their tone of voice was not very good. Bank of America and Discover have way better customer service. Even though they gave me credit first when noonelse would, Capital One can kick rocks and go bankrupt for all i care! I hope they honor your request OP.

I don't think people are giving enough credit to Capital One for this, that they do in fact give people credit when no-one else will, which is huge! So they take risks with people early on in their credit life, and then they are not generous with CLIs. So rather than hate on Capital One (and Crapital One etc gets old rather quickly), give them kudos for what they did, then move on to other suppliers. No need to hate.
+1
@joshy: Dont feel too bad because I had my Cap1 for 12 years with the same $500. Recently emailed them and got approved for CLI.
One note to you: They'll ask you what is the max and min you're looking for. Try to keep the Min not too low from the Max because chances are they'll approve you for the Min. At least that happened to my case (Max: 5K, Min: 3K. Approved CL: $3K.
Good luck!!!
@pt2005 ,when they call me she ask me my low and my max i told them 3000 min and 5000 max
Then congrats! I think you get the $3K.
Another note is ask for/keep the name of the Exec officer who deals with you and ask her would she be ok if you call in 6 months from now to follow-up/touchbase since you are confident that your score will be much better 6 months from now. She will say yes. Next time to call in, ask for that person.
@pt2005: i already have her name and privite number and she told me that i could call her anytime
Joshy
I went to the Capital One web site in order to get a venture card you need excellent credit . Their definition of excellent credit is
1) You have been 60 days late on any type account in the last year
2) Never declared bankruptcy or defaulted on a loan. ( defaulted is been late)
3) I have had a loan or credit card with a credit limit of $5000 or more for at least three years.
Do you meet this criteria? The other concern they might have is all the recent credit accounts you have opened recently.
