Capital one just threw me a curveball!

I sent a GW letter to cap one for an old 30 day late. They removed it, but added a new positive trade line. WTH? So I may take a hit cs wise, but I guess it will rebound. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Yes! This is unreal! I'm using my Discover cms which monitors EX. I had 1 open acct with the late, 2 closed accts in good standing. Now, I have 1 open with no neg history, and 3 closed accts! So it's like they closed the acct with the late and opened a new acct. I compared all the acct numbers, and they are all different. Both changes happened on the same day, so I don't think anyone opened a new acct in my name...I don't know if I should be worried or pleased...

That's odd.. is the Capital One account old? If it is, it could even help your AAOA - if they backdate it properly.

Which is really not something I'd ever expect from Cap One.

Re: Capital one just threw me a curveball!

That is very strange......what date does the new account show for a Date opened ? Is it Feb 2012 or the same date opened as the old account that you GW'd.

Also congrats on receiving Cap1 GW ! Can you share the contact information that you used ?
