Hello everyone, I've had my Crapital one since dec '10 ( just hit it's 3 year anniversary last month) It's the platinum rebuilder card, which means I started with 300-then 500-750 and i'be been capped at 1,000 for a almost 2 years. I've never been late on ANY payments ever do you think I have a chance on getting a pc or an upgrade?
I haven't used this card in about a year because of the lack of incentive, I mean I have very nice cards already, but for principle I'd like to get a reward for good behavior
Just incase you need more info, currently i have 7% on all cards combined and $0 balance on capital one and havent swiped that card in a year.
You should be able to get a CLI via the executive office without a problem, if the normal route denies you. My circumstances were similar to yours and I got a CLI from 750>5000 and a product change to the Venture via the 'chat now' feature on their website about a week after the CLI.
You know capital one irks me!!

That's what the executive office are for, they will be able (if they want of course!) to increase your CLI and/or PC.
The alternative is to apply for theCap One card you want to PC to, that might be easier, but you get the HP of course.
I've tried the executive offices a while back about cli-- no dice. I just may call later tonight about the pc or upgrade. The executives sound just as repetitive as the first level agents.
Of course we never know what goes in to their decision making, but not using the card for a year probably doesn't make them over-keen to retain you! Is there an AF? A lot of people have had success getting that removed by the EO.
If the answer is still negative, I would suggest you just move on. Keep the card for its CL, just don't use, and pursue CLIs on the cards you like (and/or apply for new cards).
The only fee i'm paying is the $3.00 monthly member fee equaling to a $36 a year fee. So, i'm going to sleep on this one because i'm throwing away $36.00 a year away AND on top of that they post the $3.00 on the EXACT day the statement cuts -- forcing a balance to always show!!!! That's what irks me the most!!!
I added my brother as an au to help him build credit, if I close the account will he also have the card reporting for the next 10 years like it would still do for me after closing?

Definitely! But it would help if you were using it.
Try customer service for a PC and CLI first, and if that doesn't work, go with the Executive Office. That will be all soft inquiries, and retain the account history, versus a new hard app for a new card.
If you click the green card in my siggy it takes you to an EO walkthrough for capital one. You can easily drop the fee, and convert the card to a higher limit prime card without any hard app.
