Re: Carrying a Balance on Barclays

I just got my Barclays Rewards card today. $2500 limit and 0% APR for 15 months. With all my new cards, since I am rebuilding, I like to PIF for awhile starting out to make sure I don't trip any buttons. I got Barclays to use for Rewards while my Cap1 Cash Rewards card holds a balance for about a year. After that, I plan to alternate every month. OP, you got a really nice limit so I wouldn't worry about AA. Go get your MacBook! Smiley Happy

Re: Carrying a Balance on Barclays

Thanks for all the replies!

No worries about sidetracking--I have a new Discover also, so loving the data.

I had a 704 myFico TU when I apped for Barclays. I had 11% util, a CSP @ 10k, and a CSP@ 7.5. Hope this helps! Also have a 3 year old paid tax lien.
WOW! EQ when I joined myFICO: 657. Ups and downs and a few bumps and bruises, but finally back over 700. Whew!

Re: Carrying a Balance on Barclays

I carry a balance on my card it came with 0% for 12 months and 10,000 points

I put tires on my vehicle. Got the card in late December purchased tires in February last payment will be this month and I'll probably finance something else I want for the next 3-8 months. LisaJ I will get back to you in 3 months to see if they auto CLI

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

i got barclays rewards master, coming up on the faithful 6 months i've been running 600 a month on avg threw it and pif or carry a small bal like 200 over to the next month, i only have 1300 limit but haven't had any real issues thus far, only thing i ran into is their payment policy, i ran a lot threw it one month and needed to make multiple payments to avoid hitting the limit and found out you have to space payments out 2 weeks other wise they hold funds for 7 days. i have heard as i am sure you have too they are app sensitive i only had 1 app since i got it and haven't had any issues

I have not experienced that.  I can make a payment every couple of days and it doesn't get held.  I made $900 in payments last statement cycle.  It may take up to two days to reflect online.

what i ran into in my 2nd month was i made 2 payments only 1 or 2 days apart, the payment posted however my ava credit did not reflect the payment for 7 days, i checked on here and found a few posts where this has happened to people, maybe its just newer accounts  and once they know your pattern its a non issue? i have been following the 2 week rule and haven't had any issues i will have to try a shorter period next time and see what happens

Mine has been maxxed out 10/12 last months LOL! I've made very large payments and have certainly taken advantage of their bt offers!!
I can say, however, that I was denied a cli one time for my balance being high on their card :-/ my other util was around 15%.
