Case Study (Chase & Bank of America)

Hello Everyone,

I thought it would help the community if I put together my experience with both Chase and Bank of America to show the aggresiveness of both lenders.

1/20--approved for Bank of America Secured $1K limit

5/2---approved for CSP $5K limit

6/20---Secured card unsecured and CLI to $3K (also added cash rewards)

6/30---CLI to $10K on CSP (asked for 10K)

7/31---denied CLI increase on Bank of America Cash Rewards card

8/1---approved for Chase Hyatt $5k and Bank of America MLB card $3K

9/15---CLI to $7.5K on Cash Rewards Card (asked for 10K)

10/15---CLI to $20K on CSP (asked for 20K)

So, from the looks of it both banks will be very aggressive, and will grow with you, especially if you have the willilngness to submit to hard pulls.  I do think usage is a fairly big factor for Chase as I have put between $5-10K on my cards per month (mostly the CSP) since inception.  I'm at about 1-2K per month with Bank of America.

Income is $160K per year

AAoA 5.2 yrs

Utilization 5-10% in aggregate

scores 710-720 EX & TU (beginning of the year I was below 600)

Interesting!

I think your income may play a good part in that.

Re: Case Study (Chase & Bank of America)

Were there negative items on your credit file before this? (I assume since AAoA is 5yr but you were issued a secured card)

Congrats!

It's not them, it's you!

Don't give BofA & Chase credit for there cli's.

There's something in YOUR profile they like. It's YOUR hard work that warrants the cli's.

Congrats again!
