Is there a post somewhere on the forums that has a list of MCC codes for different merchants, like BestBuy, Target, Microsoft etc?

Not that I have seen.

 

I believe the only way to know how a store codes, is to make a purchase,

see the code, and then add the results to your personal data base.

 

I have a Gym that coded as "real estate sales" and a Walmart that code as "grocery", you never know !!

I got the Gym to change the code so I could get 5% with Cash+,

and use a different card  for grocery's at Walmart.

 

Citi shows the category description, making it a simple look up for the code.

US Bank shows the code making it a simple look up for the description.

None of my cards show both.
