Changing Account Numbers?

Girlfriend was approved for a Barclay Rewards, got the email which welcomes you and shows you the last four digits of the card/account number, etc.

We're a little superstitious, and the last four numbers have a string of digits which makes us a little uncomfortable.

Is it kosher for us to give them a call and ask for a new account number?

Is this an unusual request? Or should we just call later on and say we lost the card?

And should we do it ASAP or just wait til we get the card?

I am sure you can just tell them you lost the acard and need  a new account number, happens all the time, the old account will show on your credit report for up to a year I belive but as closed

Also I would wait til you get the card, than say like you left it at a store or something and cannot find it and you need a new account #
