I was also recently approved for chase for 500 after a recon, lol. I had to recon for 500, My other credit lines range from 3k-20k and chase gave me 500.
They said i had too many new accounts so the only way they could approve me is with the min limit, The analyst then went on to explain to me how apping for too many new cards can hurt your credit. The analyst also was concerned that i wasnt using the cards as most of my balances were 0, and i had to explain that i pay in full every month. ( i thought they can see recent activity)
Anyway the analyst was very nice and ended up telling me to come to myfico to learn how to improve my credit and not app for more cards than i need, hahaha. I almost didnt accept the card because of the cl, but i figured i would get it now with my other new accounts and let them age together (hoping for a cli in 6 months)

I was denied a few months ago and i reconed and they denied me again and told me to checkout myfico. Oh well, things are going great for me now, i don't think i'll apply for chase again anytime soon or for any new credit in general for matter of fact. I'm gonna try to stay in the garden for the next 2 years if at all possible.

I think it is great that they are sending people here. This site has been a great help to many of us, and maybe someone who really needs us will show up and we will be there for them. Better to send people here where the answers are, than to let them struggle or be in the dark. Collectively, we are pretty wise and helpful, and we never judge.

Lol, I wonder how many GW letters Chase gets bombarded with as a direct result of sending people here.

funny part is the bank is (apparently soemtimes) referring card holders back to the very place they learned most of what they know about credit
Good luck on getting a CLI but wouldn't count on it any time soon based on the reasons they gave for the low limit. Chase is good with reallocating limits and approving for multiple products, not so much with CLI requests.

Must me we're doing something right! Congrats on your recon, and yes, just let it grow with age. ![]()
