So I just got my Chase Slate in the mail today with a $2,000 limit. I immediately called them and asked for a CLI for a total of $6,000. I was denied. Now my mortgage is through Chase as well and have been making payments on that for 8 months now all on time. Two weeks ago i also got a Lowes card with an $8,500 CL And on the same day cap1 gave me a $500 CLI. I have perfect payment history and my utilization is around 40% right now And my scores are exp 676, eqx696 and tu 685 so why wouldn't Chase give me the CLI I asked for or at least a counter offer?

You need to get this under 10%
My guess to many recent new debts so they want to see how you handle their product first which Chase is known to do
Do they not bring in to consideration my mortgage which is with them.?

No they don't for CC's
I don't need the additional credit I was basically just seeing if they would approve me for any CLI at all. I asked for more than I expected to get but I was really anticipating a counter offer. The only reason I want the CLI anyways is to help my utilization.

I don't have a chase account, so i can't answer that. I would say the reason is that your scores are under 700. If you pay your Util down your scores will rise into the 720's maybe 730
I can easily have my utilization down to about 15-20% in less than 2 months but figure I had better wait at least six months before asking for a CLI again. Is Chase pretty good about doing auto CLI after six months or will I have to ask, or is six months still to soon, should I give it a year?

I would see where my score is in 6 months then go from there
Ok six months it is. Thanks for the advice.
