I've had my Fairmont card for nearly 3 months now, and haven't recieved nor heard any news about their plans for the product going forward. I'm remaining hopeful that at some point, it'll be changed to the FU, but will be going in branch to see if there's any offers available that aren't appearing online. I've also heard of users posting their experiences getting offers when opening a checking account and have been entertaining the idea of doing the same if it would increase the odds. Thoughts?
