Chase Freedom 5% categories work internationally?

Soooo many Freedom threads, so sorry couldn't read all of them. Anyways, Qs...

1. Does the 5% count overseas?

2. While overseas, does the 2.7% or 3% (whichever it is) ForEx fees count toward points? TIA

1. should count if MCC codes are same.

2. i don't think so. it's count as finance fees.

Your best bet is going to be to call CS.

2. While overseas, does the 2.7% or 3% (whichever it is) ForEx fees count toward points? TIA

I'm guessing not, but again, ask a CSR to be sure!

Re: Chase Freedom 5% categories work internationally?

One counter example is listed:

Purchases made at Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.de, Amazon.fr, Amazon.co.jp, Amazon.ca, or any other website operated by Amazon.com, its affiliates and subsidiaries are not eligible for 5% cash back.

but unlike Amex BCP for example, it doesn't specify US for the other categories.  But asking (several!) CSRs is probably the best way to go.

1. By logic yes, someone used the other CC and got the points, which means they go by MCC.

2. it is 3% on mine, if you get charged in foreign currency you will pay 3% as a separate charge, and since you gotta pay it at the end, your points will be worth less.

No, you don't get points on that...

BOA Cash Rewards Visa Sig. 12K; BOA Travel Rewards Visa Sig 5K, US Bank Cash+ 11.5K, AMEX BCE 6200, AMEX BLUE Sky 7K, Chase Freedom Visa Sig. 5400, Fort Knox FCU Visa Platinum 2500; CAP ONE Cash Rewards WORLD MC 5K

Re: Chase Freedom 5% categories work internationally?

They do work internationally, if the merchant codes properly. No points on FTFs.
