Chase Freedom/BankAmericard age of derogs

What is a typical rule of thumb for age of derogs when applying to prime cards with Chase or BoA? I have a 90 day late from September 2012 because a student loan was supposed to be included in a consolidation, but wasn't. Before that, last derog was a 30 day in Sept 2011. Thoughts? Thanks for the help!

it really depends. There's no fixed answer.

If you really want to be on the safe side, wait >3 years.

Got a freedom card with a 120 day derog on a student loan. Granted that was almost four years ago. They did ask me about it though.

Re: Chase Freedom/BankAmericard age of derogs

I have a number of derogs on student loans from about 2006-2009 and bank of america approved me for $2000. As long as you have some revolving credit currently I think you have a good shot.

+1

My last deorog (late payment) was in Feb 2010 and when I apped this year (Approved), the late payment was not listed as reasons for consideration (Or reasons not to approve). I have paid many accounts on time since. YMMV.

Cashondelivery, what card were you approved for?

I suppose I'll just keep working on things and app for cards in 18 months or so.
