Chase Freedom, Confused..

Hi all, New here.

I didn't see anything like this on the forum so far from browsing for a day.. so I figure I'd ask.

So I applied yesterday for the Cash Back 300 after 500 in spending at a branch. (No problems here)

But when I called the backdoor number to talk to somebody, the credit analyst gave me an odd response of:

We'll have to mail you something to sign and we need you to verify your age..

I'm 20.  My FAKOs is 743 with EX. (Don't know if this even matters, Note: Pre Hard Pull score was 761)

So, can I assume that I was approved or is this just extra screening?  Or should I call again and maybe see if another person says the same thing?

Thanks in advance!

I currently have:

HSBC Premier wMC CL: 5,000 (No CLI in 2.4 Yrs *sigh*) <-- Is it time that I ask? Does HSBC pull hard?

Newegg Store Line: 2,000 (Don't think this is reported though.. at least not to all 3)

No Baddies on report, always paid early or on-time.

TU08:: 754 (4/14) EQ: 745 (6/14) 753 (1/13) Ex: 766 (12/11)
Goal: 800! Then Keep it there and keep growing!~
Card(s): HSBC Premier WMC: 5,000 (7/09), Chase Freedom 6,000 (11/11) BCE 3,200 (12/11) Chase Saph: 5,000 (5/12)

That could be a good sign as long as what they are sending you is not a 4506T form (which I doubt) it sounds like they just need to verify a few things, obviouslly I have no idea if you're approved, but generally when I read a post like this, it's just a matter of the lender wanting to verify a few things.

Best of Luck, keep us updated.

Re: Chase Freedom, Confused..

I hope they're not sending me that form, lol.

I don't have a tax return, my parents file for me.

Don't know if that matters though..

Will keep you apprised!
