Re: Chase Freedom Got Declined after Prequalified

Wow... That's persistence. Stories like this make me that much more thankful that I got an instant online approval for my Chase Freedom (and that's because they pulled EX, which was the most favorable of my reports at the time).

Congrats man.

Well done! Recon recon recon! Your next goal of a CSP will need a little help ( they like $5k CLs) but who says it can't be done? The BOA secured, when does it unsecure?

Re: Chase Freedom Got Declined after Prequalified

I wouldn't jump the gun on apping for the CSP card considering how many times you had to recon with the freedom. Lenders like to see a lot of good payment history before they consider extending a second line of credit to you and your second credit line will be significantly lower. You may want to consider doing a PC with your Freedom card but IMO, the freedom card is the best card in their line up.

The truth is out there...

Re: Finally Chase Freedom approved for $1200

use the freedom for about a year, and your chances for the CSP should be good if you keep utilization and everything thing else on your CR.

Use your Freedom a lot too. Chase likes to see heavy usage.

You could always wait until your secured graduates in Dec/Jan. then it would be a perfect time to ask for a CLI on your new one too - 6-8 mos of history.
