Sorry to hear you didn't make it. I'm beginning to feel like the guy in the Discover thread who got the $10k credit limit lol
Sometimes you just slip in unnoticed..

Had applied for Freedom on 08/12/2012 (Sunday) got 7-10 day msg, called 800-432-3117 and spoke to a CSR and later got connected to a Funder ( Credit Analyst), she analysed my credit report and denied. Reason she said was too many inquiries and too many new accounts (Discover, Walmart & Auto Loan), they made TU pull, I guess score might be high 600s. Disappointed! But after reading your post, got some courage and tried 888-270-2127(the number which you called) just before 30 mins and got directly connected to a lady; she informed me that I was denied and someone made this decision on Sunday itself. But I requested her to reconsider, she put me on hold and came back to deny once again. And this time around, the reason told was that I have limited credit history (I have history for more than a year and they need 2 yrs of history), though I tried to convince her by saying that I have good payment history, having checking account with them for more than 2 yrs, got recent salary increment, ready to share my paystub & I am eager to have a prime card..blah blah!! nope nope..she is not interested. Thanked and hang up.
Futile effort from me :-(
FYI this is my 3rd credit app for Freedom..I am trying this card since 2010. I have a decent score, mid-to-high 600 and decent income 78K.
I have Toyota Financial Auto Loan ~ 17K(0.9% APR) DCU Visa - 5K, Genisys CU Visa - 2K Discover More - 1K Cap One - 750 Cap One Cash rewards - 500 Walmart - 500 Macys - 200 Kohls - 300
Each time Freedom & Amex eludes..have to figure out. I have planned to be in the garden for a year, then re-app for Freedom & Amex.
In your other thread you say all three reports have 12+ inquiries. Not including this recent app spree, how many others are in the last 6 and last 12 months. And how old are your oldest two credit cards?

I just remembered that I left out one detail that is worth mentioning: I had a prior 1 year relationship with Chase back in 2007. I used one of their cards for I think 1 purchase and paid it in full - I had a $2500 limit when it was closed due to inactivity.
This might have helped me with re-establishing a relationship - it's too bad that they don't backdate like AMEX.
