My Freedom was converted from a Slate last month. When I got the new card, it was the regular visa. So i called the number on the back of the card and was told i was not eligible for the Siggie version, but that they would note the account and put in a request. Well today i got a call from Chase asking some basic questions, i.e. income, mortgage payment etc. After they reviewed the info, they said I was approved for the upgrade and the new card should be received in 5-7 days. They then explained the benefits of the Signature card, no pre-set limit etc. Maybe I was lucky, or maybe the request sent by the CSR did the trick.
How long have you had the Slate account open?

Called today and the reprensentatives told me they didn't know and they were not sure what the requirements were for the visa signature, I also noticed to them I had a CS with 2.2K limit which was a Visa Signature card.
Anyways, sent a secured message online because we waited for 15 minutes for a supervisor but they never came on the line.
The only other thing I can do is call on Monday and talk to Chase Sapphire customer service and see if there is anything they can do about the freedom card.
Requested for an upgrade to the Visa Signature via online and this is what they said:
Dear xxxxx,
Thank you for contacting Chase about converting the card
from a Visa Non-Signature to a Visa Signature card.
At this time, I'm unable to change your account to a
different product. I apologize for any inconvenience this
may cause you.
As an alternative, you may apply for a new Chase Sapphire
Visa Signature or any other Visa Signature card products
with Chase. New applications are available on-line at our
secure website. Please visit our website referenced below

Please note that when selecting the credit card that best
meets your needs, please remember that our policy no
longer allows for customers to have more than one credit
card in the same product whether it is Visa Signature,
Non-Signature, MasterCard Platinum or MasterCard

have may not be eligible for approval.

Based on the above, it sounds like they are limiting the Visa Signature cards to only certain credit cards at this point...which is a bummer.

Trust me, that has my head scratching too...
I am not getting that at all.
