Congrats OP!
Btw how long did you have your card before the upgrade? I read its usually 13 months for the pc but i don't think its an actual pc since you are only changing the payment network and not the card itself. I could be wrong. I plan to upgrade my freedom into a siggy but dont know how to. Is it better to call or send a secure message?

Hey Obey! I had the card since 12/11, so that's what? about a year and four months? Definitely above the 13 month guideline! From reading previous threads, it seems a lot easier to send a secured message. This way, a senior service specialist will respond and properly escalate it to an escalation specialist. Some people called in, and the CSR knew what to do and transferred correctly. Other CSRs tried to do it themselves and no-go. But the good number who called in got a "your account isn't old enough yet", "we do not do this, sorry", or "sorry, but your account isn't eligible", without them even trying. Or, maybe it's possible Chase flags certain customers who cannot convert no matter how good they are?

Secured was pretty quick too..send the message around 10 last night and got the phone call around 4 from the escalation specialists. not too shabby! You can even try including your annual income and rent/mortgage payment in the secured message to avoid a phone call and maybe the escalation specialist will only have to message you back or call to confirm that it went through or not!

Re: Chase Freedom Visa --> Visa Siggy Confusion

Thanks so much for the info. My freedom is at 12 months so i don't know if i should wait one more month. Def. going to send a message though and hopefully get it to upgrade. My CSP is a visa siggy but I run most of my expenses through my freedom so I want that to be the siggy and convert my CSP to a MC. Hopefully i can shoot one bird with two stones and get both converted at once.
Also do you know if the upgrade resulted in a hp? Trying to avoid inquiries at all costs. Thanks!

Unfortunately I didn't confirm the the rep, but he didn't ask me permission to pull my credit, and simply asked for annual income and housing payment. Reports on myFico indicate no hard pull is done! Also can't confirm because I only review my EX through the monthly services, which I recently updated :/

I hope you can get it too! Most everybody says 13 months, but you never know! I would change my CS to an MC, but I already have the Orchard, and I have never had to use an MC over Visa for anything just yet! Now, if I frequented a place that would only let me use MC, then I would be on the CS payment network change bandwagon in no time ;D rather get points for that than the nothing I get (so far) on my Orchard!

Re: Chase Freedom Visa --> Visa Siggy Confusion

you should check your CR. My freedom was closed because the original card they mailed out was returned back to them.

I received the 2nd mail they sent out, and then they reopened the account over the phone. They didn't even mention anything about pulling any reports, but Chase did another inquiry. The rep made no mention of it and I wasn't expecting it either since the phone call was less than 3 minutes.

I called Chase and they said they will remove it, but the process takes 4-6 weeks for CRAs to update.

Good to know enharu, thank you! For reference, when did you request the upgrade?

Re: Chase Freedom Visa --> Visa Siggy Confusion

I requested last week, but they said they couldn't do it because my freedom is <1 year. The freedom type I got was the "freedom ultimate" which doesnt come with visa signature version,  and they need to do a product change to " freedom 10+10" which comes in the visa signature variation.

That is incredibly strange...although I don't know what "product" my Chase Freedom Visa was, I applied for it through the $300 bonus promo. They gave no indication that my card was in a certain program, and were perfectly fine upgrading, just had to ask a few questions to ensure I qualified. Luckily mine is over a year old. Who knows if your hard pull was due to "product change" part of your card to a slightly differing product, and not solely because of the "upgrade", or if because your account was less than a year old.

In the meantime, I requested a free Experian report through freecreditreport.com (the one where there's no obligation of a free trial, but could take up to 2 days to be available for viewing), so we shall see if an unauthorized hard pull snuck it's way in there...I really hope not :/

Re: Chase Freedom Visa --> Visa Siggy Confusion

Update: I can confirm that no hard pull was initiatied for me during this upgrade. Pulled my experian, and still shows my total of 5 inquiries from the past 2 years!
