Chase Freedom - Visa or MC

Hi Guys,

I believe the Chase Freedom comes in both flavors, but if you app directly from the front page of their website, will they send you a Visa or MC?

That's good, I need to add a Visa to my rotation. Both my Cap1's are MCs.....

VISA, you have to go to www.mastercard.com and look up Chase Freedom and app there for MC.

My Freedom is a MC, and I apped at the Chase website   (my website app was in response to a Chase Freedom mailed 'invitation' to apply).
I wasn't asked if I wanted MC or VISA (that was in 2009).

Maybe it's different now?

Re: Chase Freedom - Visa or MC

Against good sound advice that I got here, I just applied..... I couldn't wait for some reason. I've been working hard to repair my credit and being approved for the BCP, I went for it.

Just got approved, $1500. Not too bad, I probably would have gotten a higher limit when my BCP reported, but oh well. I'm happy to finally get a Freedom.

That's higher than either of my Cap1 cards and I'm sure it will grow faster than Cap1

Re: Chase Freedom - Visa or MC

Ah, yeah both my Cap1 card have $39 Af.

Not sure with of the two will go.... One has a 1250 limit but no rewards. It's the older of the two and the other has only 759 limit but I do get decent no hassle rewards....

What do you think?

Re: Chase Freedom - Visa or MC

i see you just got your amex...

if you close the cap1's it will still report good for 10 years.  but your cl will obviously drop.

if the rewards outweigh the af then dont cancel it.

call the number in the sticky and see if they will waive the af. (im not sure if capone does it but ive seen amex do it)
