Chase Lowest CL?

Does anyone know what the lowest CL Chase will allow is to still keep the account open ? I have a United Explorer card, but my business travel will be almost nil for the nest 18-24 months, but I was to keep the account open to a run a charge through every  now and then to keep my Mileageplus account active.  My CL right now is $5k, I was wondering if they would transfer $4500 to my SP and lower the CL on United to $500.  Thoughts on this ? My reasoning here is to keep the UA account active, and also to avoid a hard pull in a couple of years when I start using and needing the card again.

About $215,000 total credit among 11 cards

Re: Chase Lowest CL?

If I'm not wrong the UA explorer card has a minimum CL of 2k, but that's to open the account. Not sure if you need to have a 2k CL to keep the account open however.

You are not wrong. $2k is the min CL. I would suggest sending a SM to verify if its just for account opening.

Re: Chase Lowest CL?

If it's a Visa Signature, 5k should be the minimum.

Re: Chase Lowest CL?

I have a visa signature that started way above 5k but took it down to 2k so that is not accurate above.

Listen, the only way to know is to call because unless people have done it they don't know.

My bet would be 500, though. (That is if you get the right person.)

That's what I was told when I called in not too long ago. I suppose it may depend on getting the right CSR who is willing to get it done.

+1...unfortunately many things often depend on how committed the CSR is that you happen to get.
